Ive done everything some of the other posters have done, but my MPT 4.0 with new driver installed will not recognize my razor v3xx phone. this is a different laptop with vista and my first one, years ago i got a special link to go to so i could get it to work…but this time its not seeing the phone.
what do i do? Thanks very much!

I’ve been reading forums and haven’t found anyone yet with the problem I’m having.

3 month new Vista laptop, install MPT 5.0 from new disc, follow install shield instructions…recognizes phone, installs, runs…YAY!
Internet connection works…YAY!
Go about my business, check and write some e-mails, surf some sites…YAY!
Close connection, close browser, unplug usb, do nothing else whatsoever with my computer.
Turn it off.
Turn it on again.

Touch-pad, keyboard, and speakers do not work !!!!!!

Freak out, wait till start-up is complete, do hard shutdown with power key!

Re-start, same thing!!!

Plug in auxiliary mouse, it works. Go to device manager…no drivers for touch-pad, keyboard or speakers!!!!

Try MPT, does not recognize phone in any usb port.

Uninstall all MPT parts, restart computer…still no t-p, keyboard or speakers!!!!

Do system restore to just before MPT installation….Everything back to normal!!!

I can install from disc and everything works fine as long as I don’t shut-down, restart or otherwise close the screen. As soon as I do, I loose t-p, keys, and speaks.

WTF????

since my last post Windows didnt start once again. i couldnt uninstall the driver neither could restore my sytem to a point before i first installed this driver.. :S
system log says an unknown error has accoured during restoring the system, and problem was with motorola driver installation..
can you please help me how could i remove the driver from my pc?
thx for any help

i installed the new driver from the Moto-website then installed the MPT. it was wprking for a few minutes i could copy my photos from the phone to the pc the in stopped while i was working on new ringtone. today when i turned my computer on Vista didn’t started and i had to restore the system. Windows uninstalled MPT..
is there any way to use my phone as a USB flash drive? i only wanna copy my pics from my V3 to my pc and i dont need the modem of the phone f.e.

I too had to manually tell Vista where my drivers were because they are not where Vista normally looks (or me as well for awhile). When you run the Motorola Driver Installer, look at the log and see where it’s looking for the drivers. Then when Vista says it can’t find them, get to the manual input/browse and navigate to that folder (ie mine were in Prog Files/Common Files/Motorola Shared/…Drivers).

OK, I think I’ve found a workaround. (I tried all of the suggestions here with no luck.) You can create your ringtone elsewhere — I like http://makeownringtone.com/ — and save it to your computer. Then use MPT’s File Transfer Studio to upload the ringtone to your PC. Not ideal, but it works.

hi
my motorolla phonetools somehow degraded.
i want to reinstall it. but i cannot uninstall the old instance.
it does not appear on add/remove programs.
i didn”t find any reference to uninstall.
can someone give me a tip/
