It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough, and a sufficiently generous amount has been given to us for the highest achievements if it were all well invested.

You have been preoccupied while life hastens on. Meanwhile death will arrive, and you have no choice in making yourself available for that.

You act like mortals in all that you fear, and like immortals in all that you desire.

I spent a few days on vacation and finished off Becoming Steve Jobs by Brent Schlender and Rick Tetzeli, and then read Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance.

It was a great way to compare and contrast these two tech titans. In fact, read Elon Musk second, because Vance’s book has passages that compare Musk to Jobs and Bill Gates.

Musk is a different animal.

Both books are hard to put down.
